Turmeric Tummy Loving Chocolate

When you hear the word Turmeric… The next word you hear wouldn’t usually be Chocolate!

However, I was asked to create something with Turmeric in it… and what do I love making the most in the world…  CHOCOLATE, so I thought ok how can I add this to chocolate and make it taste amazing?

My Turmeric Chocolate recipe has a beautiful spice that makes it super yummy especially in the cooler months and perfect for a gut-loving EASTER!

I’m sure you’ve heard how healing Turmeric is! Currently it is one of the most studied herbs, hence seeing it everywhere… it’s having its time in the spot light, similar to when kale was the be all and end all. That’s not to say it isn’t amazing as you have heard, trust me it is. There are nearly 200 studied benefits to Turmeric consumption – MIND BLOWN.

Curcumin is compound produced by Turmeric which is the famous for healing and decreasing inflammation like IBS symptoms, bloating, injuries, pimples even depression etc. -insane! I prefer taking a high quality curcumin tablet when I have a headache, rather than Panadol. I find it eases the pain without any side effects. Give it a try and add it to some of your meals this week and let me know what you think! Ps. On a funny note I have even tried it as a face mask to help my skin… don’t try this as it goes everywhere…. haha

INGREDIENTS (CHOSE ORGANIC WHERE POSSIBLE*)

  • ¼ cup shredded Coconut (to sprinkle on top)
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • ¼ cup Coconut Butter
  • 2 tbs Cocao Powder
  • 1 tbs Rice Malt Syrup
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1tsp Vanilla Bean Paste

method

Melt the coconut butter, oil and rice malt syrup.

Remove from heat add tumeric, vanilla bean and cocao powder.

Line tray with baking paper.

Pour mixture evenly.

Sprinkle shredded coconut over the top.

Place in the freezer for 1 hour.

Can be kept in an airtight container in fridge for approx. 1 week and freezer for longer.
