This is a recipe I highly recommend as is constant repeat in my household. Not only because it’s a fav comfort food of mine but because my tummy genuinely LOVES IT!
I have updated an old recipe to ensure anyone with tummy troubles, IBS, Food Intolerances, Gas, bloating etc. can enjoy their fav too. By removing certain ingredients that can be aggravating your digestive system, you can get super creative and re-create so many old recipes!
Garlic & Onion are known to aggravate the digestive system and cause allot of people trouble. I am not suggesting you cut these out of your diet completely, but it is important to be mindful of how your body reacts to these foods. If you think that garlic & Onion could be causing you some grief, let’s chat about a way to repair your gut and re-introduce them.
I had severe intolerances for many years, making ANYTHING I ate extremely uncomfortable. I found out which foods were causing the problem and worked through repairing my gut and my body and now I have so much more variety along with an extremely happy tummy! No more pregnant food baby after dinner.

Another problem food, can be diary, again do not remove this, if there is no need. However including Sheeps Milk and Goats Milk, as they are easier digested by the body. I promise once you try the incredible cheeses that are available you will be hooked 😛
I have also added also added a couple of extra goodies to heal and seal the gut whilst we have removed the irritants, Bone Broth! Woop woop, you guys know how much I love bone broth. Always ensure that it is grass-fed, organic bone broth. If you don’t have any one hand, feel free to use Collagen. My preferred collagen, you can buy here. There are so many on the market but honestly value for money and results, I choose this EVERYTIME!
The best thing about this recipe is it serves four, and if you aren’t making it for your whole family, it freezes perfectly for leftover! BOOM BOOM!

This may sound crazy! AND soo not italiano, BUT I like to add 1 tsp of Smoked paprika!!!
It gives it a kick and a little smokey-ness… give it a try 😉
METHOD
Heat a large pan on medium heat. Add Garlic Oil and Italian herbs, to lightly heat, this brings out a deeper flavour. Lightly heat for 30 seconds.
Add all vegetables. Fry for approx. 2 minutes, until softened.
Add mince to brown.
Once browned, add tomato puree, canned tomatoes, bay leaf, wine and season to taste.
Simmer for 30minutes.
Meanwhile, cook pasta as per instructions.
Serve, with sprinkle of sheep’s milk pecorino cheese.
Once the meat has cooled, place into container and can freeze portions for lunches and quick dinner. Add it to stuffed peppers for another meal!
