Want to know a secret way to upgrade you daily smoothie to have stronger nails, hair and even help slow down ageing…. Ummmm YAH!!!
My secret is that I add Collagen to my Smoothies, even my Bulletproof Chai’s, Coffee’s and Matcha – ERRYTHANG!
Our body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age, which leads to wrinkles, sagging skin joint pain etc. etc. So this means we need to find ways to sneak in the stuff that’s going to help, and slow that shiz down.
Of course diet is a huge part of keeping your body flourishing through every year of age, but im all about finding the little secrets that add up to the biggest benefits!
So what are the benefits of Collagen exactly, and is it worth it?
-
Improves Health of Skin and Hair
-
Reduces Joint Pains and Degeneration
-
Helps Heal Leaky Gut – this is a huge one for me and one of the reasons I started looking into it!
-
Improves Digestion
-
It’s a great source of Protein – if you hate protein powder, this is perfect for YOU!
Collagen is the most abundant protein found in our bodies! It’s basically what gives our skin strength and elasticity. In addition to our skin its also found in our bones, muscles and tendons.
So yeah… its pretty important for our bodies!
(I’ll answer this one already, because I actually get asked quite allot about which one to buy)
I have tried a few different types of Collagens and my preferred is Great Lakes Gelatin Hydrolysate. This one is unflavoured and dissolves immediately into hot or cold drinks, you can even use it in cooking!
Hydrolyzed collagen is a unique combination of amino acids that can promote healing and conditioning over other protein, especially for bone and joint health care.
So have a go and add it your Smoothies!! You wont taste a thing and it has so many healing benefits, its totally worth it.
The other way I add Collagen to my diet is through Organic, Grass-Fed Bone Broths. I either buy one usually from a local café near me Street Organics, or I make my own!
If you know of any other great brands of bone broths shoot them through or comment below, I am also looking to try new ones!!
I hope you have found this usual and a great little tip xx
