The quickest, easiest, on the go breakfast/snack!

When rushing in the morning even a smoothie can be too time consuming…  life happens!

So I always say we need to make the best out of what we’ve got. Which means a nourishing breakfast that will keep you full until lunch, that is also edible on the go with minimal effort…

I would like to introduce you to The Wholesome Heart Bircher !!!

 

It’s so freaking delish and literally takes 2 mins to throw together.

Soaking the seeds overnight ‘activates’ them, meaning it begins the germination process that helps break down the phytic acid (which is the acid that coats the seeds so they don’t turn into sprouts/plants when stored dry) and also enzyme inhibitors which the body can struggle to break down. So soaking the seeds overnight makes the nutrients a lot more readily available and actually increases their nutritional value!

Ingredients (Choose organic where possible)

  •  2 tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Shredded Coconut
  • 2 tbsp cacao nibs/ Choc Chips
  • 2 tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Cranberries
  • 2 tbsp Puffed Quinoa
  • 1 tbsp Hazelnut Butter (or  Nut Butter of choice)
  • ½ cup Almond Milk
  • 2 tbsp. Coconut Yoghurt

Method

Add all ingredients into a glass/jar, add almond milk & coconut yoghurt.

Soak the seeds over night and add fresh berries in the morning. By doing this, you are allowing the seeds to activate and become easily digestiable.

If short on time, add all ingredients night before and grab n’ go in the morning!
